I have mixed feelings about today’s Nail of the Day color. Revlon’s Powder Puff is part of the “Matte Suede” line, which I’ve liked in the past. Emerald City is one of my favorite greens of all time (albeit, I REALLY love it with a glossy top coat, and not necessarily the unique suede texture promoted, but still). There’s something about the suede texture that gives the polish a lot of depth!
That being said, this one is mostly a bust. Why you ask? Well, it took 3 coats to get where we are here, and it’s still somewhat translucent. It REALLY reminds me of liquefied sugar powder frosting, it pretty much applies that way too! Gloopy and difficult, like icing a cupcake- only the frosting is falling off the edges since cake is still too warm, or too rounded, or your frosting is too thin, or whatever! The point is, it’s gloopy, too sheer, and blech. I may try to revive this one with a bit of glitter, but I can’t promise you anything! xo

I agree… a bust! Boooooo =/
Ahh that’s too bad because I actually like the look of it. Thanks for the review so I don’t waste my money!
anytime!
Ugh…hate when that happens…the glitter will help, I’m sure. Have you tried Revlon Colorstay polish yet? Curious to hear your thoughts on it. Saw Venique polish in the local professional supply store yesterday…has Sil-Tek (silicone based product) that creates flexibility in the polish to prevent chipping…was told it’s a dream to use.
I only have one, and it’s a sheer pink– totally not the feel I’ve been going for lately! But I’ll review it at some point!!
