NOTD: Lucky Duck Dakota

DakotaLuckyDuck

After receiving Julep’s Dakota a few days back, I  HAD to give it a go. I love this rose gold metallic color. I somehow don’t own Orly’s Rage or Essie’s Penny Talk, can you even believe that!?
This one applied beautifully in 2 coats. After wearing it for a day or two, I decided to spice it up with a french stripe in Orly’s Lucky Duck. I find that nail art is a million times easier to do when you have a completely dried base color first. I used scotch tape (which works on completely dried nails… if the base color is still tacky, painters tape is more gentle) and then applied one coat of the green color! I immediately removed the tape and went onto the next finger. After letting that dry a while, I put on a top coat and voila! I love it.
What do you think of the color combo? Have a great weekend everyone!

  1. I totally love that color too. As soon as I received my Julep Maven box I applied it. I even mentioned it in my last YT video and mentioned you too. What a funny coincidence. LOL.

  2. Yes, Rage is a must if you are a polish addict (which I know you are, Mary!). It is a-mazing! It is one of my favorite polishes ever.

    • Is it even better than this color? Something is stopping me and I can’t figure out what it is. I think I’m on the brink of being over rose gold… hmm

      • I love the foil finish and personally I prefer the color to the Julep one. I am obsessed with rose gold in general though, so maybe that’s why I love it so much, haha.

  3. Orly Rage is a must! I can’t believe you don’t have it. :)
