NOTD✧ Wild Orchid and A Cut Above

PurplePink

As also shown on Instagram, today’s Nail of the Day is a new favorite, I really love this combination of colors! I applied 2 coats of Wild Orchid from Rimmel. This is a Lasting Finish Pro formula that says it’ll last up to 10 days. While I generally don’t give my manicures that long of a run, I do find the polish to hold on very nicely. This is suggesting you don’t have snags in your nails or peely nails, because that’s a different story.
I then took Essie A Cut Above and applied it nearest to the cuticles. I was completely inspired by a L’Oreal add for new “Nail Lingerie”, which appear to be nail stickers that are clear with nail art on top. You can layer this over any color. I saw the ad in my Instyle magazine for February, have you seen it yet? The ad showed a purple similar to one I had in my stash, and the ‘lingerie’ was with gold glitter. I love my pink A Cut Above so I went for it with that!
I absolutely love this one, I feel like layering different textures is a whole new approach to nail looks, I love it!

Late run to Walgreen’s and I snagged a bottle of Wild Orchid, along with Wet & Wild’s On A Trip (a touch more blue and a bit more dusky. I also picked up Revlon’s Colorstay Long Wear in Spanish Moss, a lovely green. Check it out. I know you love greens. Will it ever be possible to buy one bottle at a time? Thanks for the tip.

  3. I have gotten so many compliments on this look by my high school students. Thank you, Mary-love it!

  4. This is a gorgeous look! Can you think of any opi, zoya or Essie dupes for the purple color? I want a polish that is 3-free and I’m not sure that Rimmel is. Thanks!

I have the Rimmel polish and it is an awesome color…will look great on any skin tone. And Mary, I love this take on glitter. I don’t normally reach for glitter b/c the pain it is to remove, but just accenting part of the nail is a great idea…thanks for passing it on.

  6. I am going to get that polish color tmrw maybe if I feel better;( u think it will look good on my tan hands? Thank u
