Here she is! China Glaze’s Electric Pineapple + a comparison with Sally Hansen’s Xtreme wear, Green With Envy (of course that’s the name of it!) ((doesn’t every cosmetic brand/ nail polish brand have to name at least one of their green products Green With Envy?))
Electric Pineapple was an interesting polish application-wise. It went on like a thick jelly leaving streaks behind. It was gloopy and a bit hard to manage. 2 coats did the trick for this manicure- it could have used a third but with it’s thick consistency issues to begin with, I held off on adding another layer. Ultimately, once the second coat has been applied you can barely tell it had application issues.
Sally Hansen’s Xtreme Wear in Green With Envy was a tad more sheer, though still only requiring 2 coats that they were much thinner with less effort. Turns out the colors aren’t really that similar (much greener, no?). China Glaze’s Electric Pineapple definitely looks greeny on it’s own but next to Green With Envy, you see how much yellow is involved too.
Electric Pineapple is a gorgeous neon yellowy green that did not end up matte as neons usually do. It’s not your everyday color but it’s definitely a keeper for those days I’m interested in an 80′s throwback vibe. You like?
Um, this video??? HILARIOUS. It gets better the more you watch it.. or maybe that’s just me :)
This is what I was wearing in my latest video. Zoya’s Kimmy is one of those polishes you keep staring at. Every change of environment, I’d take a look down at my finger tips to see how Kimmy looked under that lighting and let me tell you! Absolutely gorgeous and sparkly and vibrant in either sunshine, or indoor florescent lighting. I was in awe heading down the elevator at work yesterday! I kept thinking to myself (and saying aloud to others around me..) ‘o0o0o0o’ it looks like laaaavaaaa :)
After wearing this color for a day in a half, my left hand looks perfect, my right hand has some chippage. I work on the computer and do typing at work (emailing and such, not a TON but enough) and the tip wear isn’t bad at all. And I believe the chippage was from trying to remove a flyer from an event posting on my door- dang it! One should never use one’s nails as tools- boo.
Have you experienced this type of easy chipage with this Zoya finish? I will have to watch for it when I wear Faye, Dannii, Jo or Jules in the future- those are similar in texture.
Mint Green is still hot hot hot in the nail polish world. I have ABSOLUTELY no problem with this trend (is it still a trend or are certain nail polish brands catching on late?) I love light pastel green. There’s a Sally Hansen light green I’ve been eyeing called Gentle Blossom. I hear it’s pretty sheer so I haven’t committed yet but I still can’t get enough. I realllly wish I had Milani’s Dressmaker, and the next time I see China Glaze’s Re-fresh Mint, It’s mine. Edit- I walked past Re-fresh Mint AGAIN yesterday! I’m not sure what my deal is, it doesn’t seem special to me in the bottle though I know it’s gorg on the nail :/ I did, however, pick up Essie‘s Turquoise and Caicos! Squishy, yay!
I currently own: OPI Gargantuan Green Grape & Hey! Get In Lime. Revlon Minted. Essie Mint Candy Apple. Sinful Colors Mint Apple.
I picked up <— those beauties this afternoon on my way home from work. (2 for $8, not bad at all). I had no idea Urban Outfitters came out with these new polishes- I can’t seem to find them online at the Urban Outfitters website, swatches- or anywhere actually.
Just you wait until Crowded is swatched- these colors are unbelievable! Super opaque, a tiny bit thick but overall not a bad formula. The other color choices were spot-on with my taste, I think I need more.
Inglot- I’ll have to ask Ana the names of the eye shadows and blush- I can’t get ‘em out, even with a super strong magnet.

I wore this color last weekend (and in a lot of my more recent videos). Zoya’s Marley looks like a super pale and shimmery light pink-y purple polish in the bottle and in pictures too. Though in real life I noticed it comes off like a cream finish, light lilac in color. Isn’t that weird?
I don’t have a ton of Zoya polishes to say this is always the case, but Zoya’s bottle color and color on the nail tends to looks a bit different from one to the next. I have Zoya’s Dove on my nails now, and it appears darker on the nail than in the bottle too! Not necessarily a bad thing, but a very minor case of false advertising in my opinion : )
What is it about this polish that absolutely bugs me? I know China Glaze’s For Audrey sits high on it’s own little polish pedestal- but I don’t absolutely love it. I think the ringing endorsement came from the fact it appeared on the market in 2007. Dusty light blue teal polishes were uncommon at the time, and most women love the concept involving Tiffany & Co., Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany’s… etc.
I wore it today as a full manicure, to better understand the hype, and I get it but I’m not dying to wear it again. In fact, it’s been removed and replaced by Zoya’s Dove. Expect a tiny review on that one soon enough!
*Funny edit, My hubs saw me blogging and commented on how he liked the color of this one! It has such mass appeal. What can I say, to each their own (these are just my thoughts).
I’ll be updating with a compete list of polishes in the morning! It’s 4:00am in Chicago and my Zoe kitty woke me up to pet her while she eats (typical)- I checked to see if the video had processed, and voila! Nail polish collection, ready set go!
